For Samsung fans who have been waiting patiently for the unveiling of the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S8, you may have to hold tighter to your seats as the device might be delayed. The company has decided not to debut the handset at Mobile World Congress this year.
Samsung has long been known to unveil its devices at the Mobile World Congress 2017. However, this time, there are indications that launch date of Samsung Galaxy S8 might be pushed back due in part to the company's pledge in enhancing its safety features.

This comes on the heels of the investigation that caused the global recall of Samsung's premium Note 7 smartphones. Reuters reported that according to Samsung mobile chief Koh Dong-jin, procedures to avoid any repetition of what happened that caused $5.3 billion from the company have been set in motion.
"The lessons of this incident are deeply reflected in our culture and process," mobile chief Koh Dong-jin said during a press briefing. "Samsung Electronics will be working hard to regain consumer trust."
During investigation as the ultimate cause of the Note 7 disaster, the company uncovered that faulty batteries from their two suppliers and design flaws were the cause of the trouble. Further, Samsung will then be working hard to regain consumer trust following the ordeal that could have been labeled as the most controversial and worst for the company.
Expectations for the Samsung Galaxy S8 high and a number of rumors and "leaks" about the device have surfaced since. It has been reported that the new flagship smartphone will house the Snapdragon 835 chip, Qualcomm's latest processor and by one of the most powerful.
Meanwhile, according to The Guardian, among the new changes to Samsung Galaxy S8's design include an "infinity display" covering most of the front part of the device. Also, there will be two handsets with codenames "Dream" and "Dream 2," each referring to the smaller and larger unit, respectively.
The report furthered that the iris scanning biometric tech that was housed in the Galaxy Note 7 will also be available with the flagship device. And a new AI assistant similar to the Google Goggles could be launched in the device.
Samsung is yet to unveil their latest flagship device but not at the MWC, which kicks off on February 27. The company did not inform when they will launch the device. Since Samsung Galaxy S8 is the first flagship device that the company will launch following the Note 7 disaster, it will most likely come out with a bang.
