Lamborghini's newest creation finally made its grand debut on public roads, with the revived Countach hitting the Italian countryside. This is the first sighting of the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 since it wowed crowds at the Monterey Car Week festival in California in August of last year.

The revived Countach made quite an entrance in Italy, bringing along two of its formative predecessors for the ride. Joining the futuristic four-wheeler was the first Countach LP 400 ever produced and the last Countach, 25th Anniversary model, to roll off the line. The three Lambos were a sight to behold as they posed for a high-quality photo session, showing the Countach's transformation from an iconic 80's ride to a hybrid supercar.

So why is the latest Countach called LPI 800-4? The LP in that moniker references the power plant's Longitudinale Posteriore orientation. I stand for Ibrido, which translates to a hybrid in Italian. The "800" signifies the supercar's expected output of 800 horsepower, while the "4" relates to the vehicle's four-wheel-drive configuration.

Countach LPI 800-4 is one of the most powerful Lambos ever made

The Countach LPI 800-4 is one of the most potent cars Lamborghini has ever made. Like the original Countach, the renewed version is powered by a V12 engine. This particular powerplant, which comes from the brand's famous Sian model, packs more punch, though, with the 6.5-liter V-12 producing a maximum 780 horsepower.

Mounting a 48-volt electric motor directly on the seven-speed automatic gearbox takes the Countach LPI 800-4 to another level, with the supercar generating an additional 34 horsepower. It also possesses a supercapacitor, producing three times more power than a lithium-ion battery of equal weight.

With a total output of 814 horsepower, the Countach LPI 800-4 needs just 2.8 seconds to reach 62 mph from a standstill position. According to Lamborghini, the 3,516-pound (dry weight) car can hit 221 mph at full tilt.

112 units of Countach LPI 800-4 already sold out

The Italian car manufacturer will begin delivering the luxury car to its customers any time now. Only 112 examples of the Countach LPI 800-4 were planned for production by Lamborghini, all of which were already sold even before the supercar's official public presentation. Buyers of the Countach LPI 800-4 will have to pay huge amounts of money to acquire the prized car, with the price set at $2.64 million per unit.

The LPI 800-4 has a square bonnet framed by slim headlights, making its appearance strikingly different from the Aventador. The new Countach's front air intakes are also smaller, with its location near the edges of the car.

The LPI 800-4 pays homage to early versions of the original Countach, with a channel running down the length of the car's roof. Like the classic Countach, ultra-large side air intakes are also present in the new model. The interior of the LPI 800-4 delivers modern elegance, with the Countach having a large central touchscreen.
