Mass production for the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will reportedly begin this July, according to Japanese website EMSOne, who cited Taiwan's Industrial and Commercial Times.
A larger device will hit mass production sometime in September. The device is expected to be somewhere between 5.3- to 5.7-inches.
If this is true, the iPhone 6 won't be released until sometime this fall most likely. The report claims that both versions of Apple's next iPhone will go on sale sometime during Q4 this year.
The 4.7-inch iPhone will be released earlier than the larger device, according to the report.
Earlier this month, Reuters reported that Apple would begin production of the 4.7-inch display for the iPhone 6 this May to be prepared for a fall release.
The same report claimed production for the larger device would be delayed due to in-cell technology issues.
Japanese newspaper Nikkei said in March that the iPhone 6 could be launched "as early as September" in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch options. This article disputed a claim made by UBS analyst Steve Milunovich.
Milunovich said that a 4.7-inch iPhone would be the only new Apple smartphone to be released this year, and the timeframe for a larger device was "unclear," according to MacRumors.
The next iPhone is expected to come with a number of new features, including a thinner, bezel-free design, processor and camera upgrades, and a more durable, sapphire screen.
Apple has not confirmed any rumors regarding its next iPhone device yet.
The new operating system that the next iPhone will likely use is expected to debut at the 2014 WWDC this June.
