Google is reportedly "close" to debuting its Android TV, according to a report by The Verge.
The Mountain View, California company is hoping its TV will rival similar products like the Apple TV, Fire TV, and Roku.
"Android TV is an entertainment interface, not a computing platform," said documents obtained by The Verge. "It's all about finding and enjoying content with the least amount of friction." It will be "cinematic, fun, fluid, and fast."
The new TV will support voice commands, will be compatible with gaming, and will come with a gaming controller, similar to the recently unveiled Fire TV.
The documents reveal that it won't take more than three clicks to go from the home screen to watching content.
"Access to content should be simple and magical," said the document.
Screenshots of Android TV reveals Google services like YouTube, Play Movies, and Hangouts are included on the platform, along with outside services like Netflix, Pandora, and Hulu.
"Android TV is Android, optimized for the living room consumption experience on a TV screen," reads the document.
Despite the announcement, Google will still reportedly offer its $35 Chromecast dongle device, which allows users to watch online videos from their smartphone, computer, or tablet on HDTVs, according to The Verge.
Google has not commented publicly yet regarding the Android TV.
