Navy Yard Shooting: 6 Confirmed Dead, 4 Injured in Washington (VIDEO)

One gunman has been confirmed dead and police are looking for at least two more suspects in a shooting at the Washington DC Navy Yard.

Police said at least one gunman opened fire inside a building at the Washington Navy Yard, killing six people, and injuring at least four, including a law enforcement officer, according to the Associated Press.

The two additional suspects are wearing military-style uniforms, and one man was wearing a beret.

Police said the dead shooter is a Navy employee whose work status was changed earlier this year according a federal government official who spoke with the Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

"We still don't know all the facts, but we do know several people have been shot and some have been killed," said Obama, regarding the shooting, according to the USA Today. "We're confronting yet another mass shooting and today it happened on a military installation in our nation's capital. It's a shooting that targeted our military and civilian personnel."

The shooting is believed to be job released, but police have not ruled out terrorism.

Witnesses said a gunman opened fire on the fourth floor, aimed down on people in the first-floor cafeteria. Others said the gunman fired down from the third-floor hallway, according to the Associated Press.

"These are men and women who were going to work doing their jobs and protecting of all of us," Obama said. "They're patriots. They know the dangers of serving abroad, but today they faced the unimaginable violence that they wouldn't have expected here at home."

Approximately 3,000 people work at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters, which purchases, builds, and maintains the Navy's ships and submarines.
