EXOR Studios, the game development company behind the "Zombie Driver" title, recently announced a game. Dubbed as "X-Morph: Defense," the game will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.

Along with the announced, EXOR Studios have also released the game's first official trailer. The game combines twin-stick shooting gameplay with the tower defense genre. The game has elements of a third-person shooter game, and also the classic tower defense mechanics.

"X-Morph: Defense" features fully destructible environment which can be utilized to force enemy trail to change, according to DualShockers. This is a good gameplay mechanic as it allows players to experiment several possibilities on how to deal with the enemies, rather than just being given one predetermined route. The trailer also showed what appears to be a coop mode and boss encounters.

As with almost every tower defense games, players are allowed to build their defenses anywhere on the map. The game features an X-Morph fighter which users can control. The fighter can be commandeered to build defenses. The fighter is also equipped with weapons which players can use to destroy targets. The fighter can transform into four different class, each has its own unique ability and weapon cache.

According to EXOR Studios' official website, the company has been working on "X-Morph: Defense" for a number of years already. It added that the concept of the game was created in 2010, and full production on the project started in 2013.

Regarding the storyline of "X-Morph: Defense," EXOR Studios has this to say, "You are the X-Morph - an alien species that invades Earth to harvest its resources and terraform the surface."

EXOR Studios has yet to confirm the official release date of "X-Morph: Defense," although it is expected to come out later this year. The game will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and on PC via Steam.
