The 2017 Ford F-150 is almost the same as the 2016 version but with updates for car enthusiasts and buyers to take notice. There are innovations in the latest F-150 enough to make it one of the top contenders of its kind for the year 2017.

According to Car and Driver, the new EcoBoost Powertrain is one to make buyers drawn to this pickup. The new EcoBoost V-6 replaces the first-generation 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. The more outdated has been optional throughout the entire F-150 lineup since 2011. It is about time for its engine to have a better performing one.

The new F-150 is known to have everything new. The blocks, turbos, and cooling system have been updated for one mean machine. The new fuel-display system also has both direct and port injectors all geared for improved emissions and power.

The most astounding development Ford's new pickup is its 10-speed automatic transmission which is co-developed with General Motors. It has six clutches and four gearsets into a package that is barely larger and heavier the six-speed version that it replaces. It does have the signature GM treatment for its ratios and internals which they shared with Ford.

While the 10-speed automatic transmission makes car enthusiasts make the most sought-after thumbs up, this technology is not at perfect at all times. Just like all technologies, it is bound to have little flaws in some aspects. The only issue to the 10-speed is its occasional part-throttle hesitation when shifting out of the third gear. Car enthusiasts are then looking forward as to how the combination of V-6 and 10-speed would fare.

As added by Motor Trend, the 2017 Ford F-150 is expected to be out in dealerships by mid-October of this year. This is the time when buyers and car enthusiasts are given the opportunity to drive the new pickup truck with the 10-speed automatic transmission.

Since it has been introduced recently during the Detroit Auto Show, critics still have yet to see and feel how its like to drive the all-new 2017 Ford F-150. However, based on its presentation, it is safe to assume that the combination of V-6 and 10-speed automatic transmission as earlier reported makes for one smooth drive. With everything updated, this should be the top of its class as it gets officially released towards the fourth quarter of this year.
