Michael Schumacher Update: Three Years Without Concrete Health News As 48th Birthday Nears

Today marks about three years without official news or personal updates from Michael Schumacher on the state of his health. The former German driver suffered an accident while skiing on Dec. 29, 2013, and although there are new reports and developments around Michael Schumacher status, his condition is still unknown to many of his fans.

The F1 world champion and legendary racer, who next Jan. 3 will turn 48, still has a heavy presence in the F1 world as many people miss him and are looking for concrete Michael Schumacher updates. He is often mentioned when compared with possible successors like Sebastian Vettel or Nico Rosberg, while some people find the news that his son is on the road to F1 very inspiring, according to The42.

The only place where people get some kind of official Michael Schumacher update is through his social media accounts. The F1 racer's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram is operated by his manager and close friend, Sabine Kehm.

Three years later, Kehm still remains the filter that preserves the family from those looking for a Michael Schumacher update. Despite having yielded over time, the speculation and questions reappear when, in some part of the world, there is news about the supposed improvement or deterioration of his health.

Virtually, the only Michael Schumacher update that came from Kehm is that the racer awoke from the coma in June 2014 and was transferred to a rehabilitation clinic in Lausanne, Switzerland. From there he was moved to the family villa of Gland, in the canton of Vauz, set up by Corina Schumacher, Michael's wife, to give him the attention he needs.

This Dec. 17, Kehm had to insist again that Michael Schumacher's health was and will remain a strictly familiar matter and in the future there will be no information about this "private situation."

He said this in light of new leaked photographs reported by Metro. He also added that they are all aware that it is difficult to understand why they are keeping Michael Schumacher's health hidden. But they are all in agreement to keep it as is and would appreciate people's understanding.

A Michael Schumacher update still remains elusive days before his 43rd birthday. We just hope that the New Year gives him more strength to recuperate: the man who has won the most world titles in the history of Formula 1 is surely missed.
