Mick Schumacher, son of the legendary F1 racing driver Michael Schumacher is heading to Formula 3 in 2017. Mick has started testing with F3 top squad Prema Powerteam at the Nurburgring on Thursday looking poised and ready enough for his F3 jump.

Schumacher continues his rise in the world of the motor after two years of competing in Formula 4. If everything goes well, he will make the jump to Formula 3 in 2017, which will be only his third year in single-seaters, according to Azertag.

Schumacher completed a good season in 2016, his second in Formula 4, which has competed in the German and Italian F4. The son of Michael has been a runner-up in both disciplines and would now be thinking what is his logical step after this and it points to Formula 3.

Proof of this is that Mick, along with many other drivers, is testing an F3 of the most powerful equipment category with Prema Powerteam, at the Nurburgring, according to ForxSports. The team won the back to back championship of F3 this year with Canadian Racer Lance Stroll which was announced today to be a pilot of Williams in 2017 Formula 1 racing. Schumacher wants to follow the steps of Stroll as Stroll is one of the youngest yet most talented racer in the world of Formula racing.

As of today, there is nothing to worry about Mick Schumacher succeeding as he has already shown good performance in competition, and no doubt it will be very striking to see again a pilot with this surname competing in a category of such a history and reputation as the Formula 3.

Now everyone is just hoping that his father Michael Schumacher, will recover just in time to watch him compete in F1 or even goes as far as F1 and be another legend Schumacher in the racing world.
