In the F1 news, Lewis Hamilton won first place at the 2016 F1 US Grand Prix at Austin held last Weekend. This is Hamilton's first win since the German Grand Prix in July and is enough to cut the lead of teammate Nico Rosberg by seven and widen his chances for a world title again.

Perfect Place, Perfect Time. Perfect Result

The US Grand Prix was held at the Austin track where Hamilton shines the brightest these past years. Now he had won four out five Gold in the race track - one is silver - and it couldn't have come at the perfect time as he needed the win badly to cut through his team mate's point and hopefully get another F1 world title as reported by TheGuardian.

Lewis Hamilton, made a good start this time with which kept him in first position all the way till the end. Lewis Hamilton had no sort of problem on the way to his seventh victory of the season. Nico Rosberg tried to attack him but met with Daniel Ricciardo who beat him to get second on the earlier part. Daniil Kvyat, Valtteri Bottas and Nico Hülkenberg were involved in an incident that ended the German Force India out of the race after breaking direction, with the punctured Finnish and Russian Toro Rosso penalized by ten seconds.

Since then the race became a constant strategy. Who had come with super soft tires, Ricciardo and Raikkonen, entered the pits on lap nine and caused Nico Rosberg to change tires to avoid undercut? Spanish riders made a good start. Carlos Sainz climbed to eighth place and Fernando Alonso did the same until the ninth. Both maintained a struggle in the distance to the end of the race when they met.

The battle between the two was epic. Sainz , who was running fifth after the retirements of Verstappen and Räikkönen, who had been placed the wrong wheel, was right behind Felipe Massa for a number of laps, but the pace of Alonso took the Spanish to overcome the Brazilian in a great move and a couple of laps later, Fernando has come ahead of Sainz. Alonso crossed the finish line in fifth place, equaling his best result this season.

50th Victory In F1 History

Hamilton, the three-time world champion has now won 50 races in his career. A feat only Alain Prost (51) and Michael Schumacher (91) achieved in the history of F1 as reported by BBC.

Lewis Hamilton admitted that he was not aware of the figures and just want to have a good race in the Austin race where he won several times but was afraid he'll face an engine failure again like in Malaysia as he heard something on the engine which luckily, didn't happen.

"The truth is that I only focus on doing the best I can. Today I felt very comfortable although when I rode the car I heard the same noise as I heard in Malaysia. Luckily nothing happened and I feel. very thankful" said Hamilton

Win Still Not Enough?

Despite scoring his seventh win of the season and reaching 50 wins in F1, Lewis Hamilton was still somehow defeated as the Briton only managed to cut seven points in the standings of Rosberg who has been very solid and has managed to regain the second position he had lost at the start. The distance between the two Mercedes drivers stays at 26 points with only three races left in the season.

"I lost some ground at the start, but then I pull myself. Finishing in second place is very good and although I wanted to win here in Austin, it has not been possible. Lewis has done very well but I still have very good opportunities." said Rosberg

The next race will be held within a week in the Mexican Hermanos Rodriguez circuit, where Rosberg can already be champion if he wins the race and hamilton does not score.
