Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Deffective Batteries Causes For Worldwide Recall Of Over 2.5M Units

Samsung calls for a worldwide recall of their Samsung Galaxy Note7 due to cell battery problems. The said phone unit was on sale weeks ago, and almost 2.5 million units were out.

Samsung made an investigation after the reports claimed that cases of Galaxy Note7 exploding or catching fire. After finding out about the faulty batteries causing such cases, South Korean Electronic brand decided to recall all the units with defective batteries. 

Social media is also filled with posts about the phone, and the complaints about it overheating and exploding.

Apart from the customers possibly getting hurt, this recall is critical to Samsung, as the leading competitor, Apple is launching its newest phone model iPhone7. This will probably leave a stint as this two companies are battling head to head in the market.

But apart from the battery defects, Samsung is travelling smooth and greatly with them launching some awesome gadgets from the past month. The launch of Galaxy S7 and Gear S3 are indeed a success.

Samsung promises to replace all units with defective batteries in the weeks to come. So if you bought a Note7, you should expect for a new model in the following weeks.

[Statement] Samsung Will Replace Current Note7 with New One
on September 02, 2016

Samsung is committed to producing the highest quality products and we take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue.

To date (as of September 1) there have been 35 cases that have been reported globally and we are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers' safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have stopped sales of the Galaxy Note7.

For customers who already have Galaxy Note7 devices, we will voluntarily replace their current device with a new one over the coming weeks.

We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause in the market but this is to ensure that Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers. We are working closely with our partners to ensure the replacement experience is as convenient and efficient as possible.
