AT&T will be the exclusive carrier of Amazon's long-rumored smartphone, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The smartphone is expected to be launched on June 18 during a highly-anticipated media event in Seattle.
Amazon revived speculation about its next major device earlier this month when it released a YouTube video and website post to announce a "launch event" scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
The event will be hosted by company CEO Jeff Bezos.
Several tech blogs and the Journal have all reported that Amazon could be working on a smartphone with a three-dimensional display without special glasses.
The device would utilize retina-tracking technology embedded in four front-facing cameras to make some images appear to be 3-D, according to the Journal, who cited "people familiar with the plans."
The company has demonstrated versions of the handset to developers in San Francisco and Seattle.
This isn't the first time AT&T has partnered with a company to debut a new device. Back in 2007, Apple partnered with the carrier to launch the first iPhone device, which became a huge success globally.
AT&T also provides wireless service to Amazon's Kindle tablets and e-readers as well. Many analyst believe that the move could attract new subscribers at a time of intense competition among wireless carrier companies.
This has been a big month for Amazon as it also launched its new Prime Music service just last week, which has been described as a steaming music service that will be included in Amazon Prime subscriptions.
The launch event is scheduled to take place on June 18 at 10:30 a.m. PT or 1:30 p.m. ET.
