General Motors has announced it is recalling its 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickup trucks equipped with the diesel engine and dual fuel tanks.
The recall affects 51 vehicles.
Affected vehicles are being called back to fix an issue that poses a fire risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
No fires, crashes or injuries have been reported to the automaker yet, according to Alan Adler, a GM spokesman, who spoke with Edmunds.
"In the affected vehicles, the fuel pipe connections on both sides of the diesel fuel transfer pump may not be properly torqued, which may result in a diesel fuel leak," said NHTSA regarding the pump issue.
Only 21 of the trucks are in the hands of customers, according to the NHTSA.
The rest of the vehicles can be found at dealerships.
Affected trucks were manufactured from February 11, 2014 through February 19, 2014.
Chevrolet and GMC dealers are being instructed to inspect fuel pipe connections. If an issue is found, fuel pipe connections will be tightened to the proper torque.
Repairs will be completed free of charge, according to GM.
"A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a vehicle fire," said the NHTSA.
An official recall date has been set for May 19, according to the automaker.
