Actress and singer Demi Lovato may be leaving "The X Factor" soon after serving as a judge for two seasons.
The show, which has a revolving door reputation when it comes to the judging panel, requires a demanding schedule that is conflicting with Lovato's music career, PEOPLE reported.
"She plans to spend next year completely focused on her music," a source close to Lovato told PEOPLE. "She had a great run and a good time."
Lovato, 21, will be headlining her first arena tour next year with the first date on Feb. 9 in Vancouver. The "Neon Lights" tour will also feature Cher Lloyd, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony, all alums from "The X Factor."
The former Disney Channel star released her fourth album, the eponymous "Demi," last summer with Hollywood Records. The record spawned hit single "Heart Attack," which made it to the top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100.
Lovato could have been hinting at leaving when she told reporters last month, "I think ultimately my main thing is singing. Maybe movies once in a while, if the right role comes along."
Entertainment Weekly noted that Lovato's two-year stint on the show was actually a good run on "The X Factor," which has had an unstable history when it comes to judges. FOX and Lovato's representatives declined to comment to EW.
The Associated Press reported a day earlier that producer Simon Cowell is planning to shake things up next season with new judges and a new role for himself. While Cowell said he had names in mind for a new judging panel, he wouldn't give further details about them or about the "different kind of role" he might be taking on.
The show's ratings have fallen this season, according to USA TODAY. The 2013 winner will be announced during Thursday's finale starting at 8 p.m. on FOX.
