A 19-year-old New York University student might have been trapped between two buildings for two days, but can't remember how it happened, according to fire officials.

Asher Vongtau, the victim, was rescued at 6:25 p.m. on Nov. 3, and he is in serious condition at Bellevue Hospital.

Vongtau, 19, said he isn't sure how get got stuck between a 5-story parking garage and a 17-story NYU dormitory.

"He really can't remember up until when he fell in there, exactly what happened. Maybe as he comes to," his mom, Habiba Vongtau, said to  ABC's New York station WABC. "(He has) broken bones, arm, and contusions, and I think (a) fractured pelvis."

The buildings are located between Lafayette and Franklin streets in lower Manhattan.

He was reportedly wedged in an area between six to 18 inches. It took over an hour and half to pull him out.

"We had an unconscious male stuck in between two buildings," an FDNY spokesman said to ABC News. "We had to breach a wall to gain access to get him out. We had him in serious condition and he was rushed to Bellevue Hospital."

Friends reported Vongtau missing after a fire alarm drill. Security told them to check the roof of the building, where they found Vongtau's phone.

Rescue workers had to break through a concrete wall to reach Vongtau. He is currently in fair condition, according to the hospital.
