A new jailbreak to free iPhones from iOS 7 is supposedly underway by the same team who was able to successfully free the iPhone 5 last winter.
The team, known as the evad3rs, revealed this week that they're busy looking into creating a jailbreak for iOS 7.
Team member who goes by the Twitter handle @planetbeing said earlier this month that they are "actively" looking to figure out if a jailbreak is possible, and urged iPhone users to be patient until then.
"Since everyone loves updates: @evad3rs have now started to actively look at iOS 7," evad3r @planetbeing said on Twitter on Sept. 11. "The operative word here, as understood by many, is 'actively.'"
iOS 6 was released with the iPhone 5 last September, but it took approximately five months before the evad3rs were able to release a successful jailbreak. No one else came close to doing so, though dozens of fake jailbreaks were released to fool hopeful Apple users.
The website for the evasiOn download was one of the most visited websites after the jailbreak was released, and approximately 20 million users downloaded the app according to Forbes.
The iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, which were both released earlier this month, could be even harder to free because of their bit processing capability.
iOS 7 is available for the iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5S, and 5C, according to Apple.
Fellow evad3r @pod2g also warned people on Twitter about the risks of using the Android iMesseage app. The app can supposedly be used by hackers to grab Apple IDs and passwords.
