Since the first release of the original Aston Martin Vantage way back in 2006 and a wealthy collection of special edition remakes to keep it on track, the major flop has gotten the withering rookie revving for a much larger hook to latch on. A decade into the future, a few alterations have been made to produce its predecessor.
The 2018 Aston Martin V8 Vantage has been spotted at the Nurburgring capable of passing off as a doppelganger of the previous DB11. The new Vantage struts on a similar but shorter and riveted aluminum platform. Though given a seemingly sawed-off version of the wheelbase, the vehicle is significantly wider when observed from a holistic perspective. This gives a firmer, more compact length.
The comeback has given life to a more dynamic, powerful, and state-of-the-art architecture, an advancement to Aston's stagnant adherence to retrograde designs, adapted from Mercedes-Benz. Benz also credited a digital instrument panel from which buyers can choose either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic and a modern infotainment display inside the cabin. Despite never being allowed a sneak peek into the Vantage's interior layout, it is expected to be ditto the DB11 but may have two fewer seats compared to the 2+2 seating arrangement of the latter. Aston CEO Andy Palmer may have planned the likeness of the two models' components for maximizing frugality.
Powertrain lineup comprises of a Benz-sourced Biturbo V8 formally known as the Mercedes AMG GT 4.0 liter V8 with a few tweaks for an individual trademark. Regardless, the output remains undefined. In its E63 S, the highest output seen was 603- horsepower and 627 pound-feet. To add to the line up in the preceding years, a model to be called the V12 Vantage will be a 5.2-liter twin turbo from the DB11 would be produced and released.
A convertible version is expected to be introduced later. Prices are estimated to be at least around $125 000.
