Recent reports claim that South Korean tech giant LG is planning to roll out the highly requested Android 7.0 Nougat update to two of its previously released smartphones. The LG G4 and the LG V10 are expected to receive the Android Nougat update within the second and third quarter of the year, respectively.

LG has yet to confirm or provide a specific date as to when the updates will be rolled out. However, the company did say that the LG G4 will receive the Nougat update within the second quarter of the year, and the LG V10 will receive the same update within the third quarter of the year, according to Gizbot.

LG is planning to release the update in its native country of South Korea and in other regions where the two smartphones were released. LG did not confirm whether the release will be simultaneous on all regions.

The LG G4 and the LG V10 were released in 2015, and the smartphones have received two major updates since then. LG have said in the past that the company will stop releasing updates for the LG G4 and the LG V10 as they were "not optimized with the latest version." It is still unclear what persuaded LG to work on the Nougat updates for the two smartphones that are already considered dated in current standards, according to Phone Arena.

When the LG G4 and the LG V10 were first released, the smartphones run on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The two smartphones also received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow months after the update was released.

At the time of their official release, the LG G4 and LG V10 were considered as top-tiered devices. However, considering the hardware requirements of the Android Nougat, some are skeptical whether the two smartphones are capable of properly running to new operating system and its features.
