Nintendo Switch Gains Advantage With Middleware Packages; Third-parties Can Release Games In New Console

Middleware packages put the Nintendo Switch in a big advantage. Unlike the previous Wii U, Nintendo Switch uses packages such as the Unreal Engine 4, which enables the console to play High Definition and 3D games.

According to TrustedReviews, the new Nintendo Switch, coming this March, bears the same similarities of the Wii U, although it is very different. Nintendo has previously claimed that the Switch will not outright replace the Wii U. It is though confirmed that the Wii U production will be slowed and will meet an end in the near future.

Wii U is significantly underpowered with an SEEPROM memory chip and outdated manufacturer in the 45nm node, neither efficient nor powerful compared to modern chips.  The Switch would come in a Tegra system-on-a-chip designed by Nvidia and also come in Full HD 1090p resolution when connected to a TV via HDMI port.

Furthermore, Forbes writes that the Nintendo switch is confident with its usage of middleware packages, which the Wii U never had. The packages now enable Nintendo's software developers to go against or compete with the Western Developers.

Middleware packages do not tend to focus only on the graphical side of things but also in the side of the console where it iterates features faster and also be more stable in any environment.  Nintendo Switch Developers are working with different third parties such as Unreal and Unity, which enables them to develop compatible software.

The Will U lacked support in terms of middleware supports, which causes it to be unstable in the long run, and decreased in popularity. Mastering the technical side of the engine is an obvious necessity but also how Nintendo would approach middleware packages and whom they would approach is important as well.

With different third parties coming to the company, this enables them to release games on the new console and also help Nintendo to last in the long run under the console business.
