Microsoft's Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program finally has the stealth assassination game from Square Enix, "Hitman: Absolution." Originally released last 2012, this is the better game in the ongoing "Hitman" saga, although it is not one of the highly requested title to join Microsoft's program.
The arrival of "Hitman: Absolution" on Microsoft's Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program received well over 30,000 votes despite it being already almost 5 years old, reports Express UK. It is only the third game launched by Microsoft for February, which is far from the number of titles released last January for the Backwards Compatible game.
If you already have a copy of "Hitman: Absolution" on your Xbox 360, either on disc or digitally, then it will show up on your Xbox One library and then you can begin your adventure instantly. On the contrary, you can begin fresh by picking up the title on the Xbox 360 Marketplace for only $20. The game will take up around 7GB, so be sure you have ample storage.
To refresh your memory on the game's story or for those who have missed this saga, then let's walk back memory lane. You get to be Agent 47 on "Hitman: Absolution," the world's ultimate assassin. You will take on missions as taking out high-profile targets with either your bare hands or any weapon you can grab. Also, your ability to make use of stealth will be tested as the game progresses.
If you can remember, when "Hitman: Absolution" initially launched, it was plagued with a number of issues on all 3 platforms then. The top problems included corrupted file save on consoles, crashes, and freezing. However, the Square Enix was able to release a patch to fix the issue, but it took them a month or so.
"Hitman: Absolution" joins a little over 300 game titles on Microsoft's Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program. Among the games that have made it include "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," "Grand Theft Auto IV" that was added last January, and "Lego Indiana Jones" that was added earlier this month.
The most requested game to join Microsoft's Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program is "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2." However, GameSpot reports that Phil Spencer, Xbox boss, said that "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" will not be joining the lineup this week, although he does want the game to be really added. But fans shouldn't expect it soon.
Microsoft's Xbox One Backwards Compatibility library now has around 320 game titles. And in fact, it is still growing. But if "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2" will make the lineup is yet to be determined. Stay tuned for more updates on the Xbox One.
