"Gears of War 4" is gearing up to celebrate Valentine's Day with a week-long event that is slated to begin on Feb. 10. Meanwhile, the February update for the first-person shooter game is already out bringing with it 2 new maps, Guardian improvements, Gear Packs, and of course gameplay changes.

Since "Gears of War 4" has always embraced the holidays, starting Feb. 10, players get to express their feelings as "Torque Bow" game mode make a comeback but with some juicy "Cupid-style" twist, just to blend within the season of love. Plus, Gears of War noted that players get to earn new Gear Packs and collect a new craftable character. Of course, the Valentine's Day event wouldn't be complete without players picking up daily Valentines themed bounties.

The Valentine's Day the "Gears of War 4" event isn't the only thing new in the world of the first-person shooter game. Players get to see a brand new gameplay from 2 additional maps: Impact Dark and War Machine.

"Impact Dark," as the name implies, is relatively based on "Gears of War 4" launch map, Impact. What's different this time is that it will be dark, again as the title suggests. Instead of the daylight setting in the Impact, there will be reduced visibility impaired by smoke spread all throughout the arena.

GameSpot reports that snipers are replaced with Boltoks, while the Dropshot replaces the Torque/EMBAR. So, in order to win over this "Gear of War 4" map, a change in strategy and tactic might bring the game to a whole new level.

"War Machine" is the second map added in the update, which is the fan-favorite map from the original "Gears of War" but with minor changes. According to Engadget, Coalition claimed that the map's core design has remained intact.

Those who love to play the Guardian mode will definitely celebrate as a new spawning system has been added, well as an improvement to the game mode. Called Leader Spawns, players will be able to respawn in close proximity to their leaders. Leaders in turn need to position themselves in such as way that they become beneficial to all players and players will easily get back.

Both "Dark Impact" and "War Machine" and other notable February update for "Gears of War 4" are already available for download. However, only Season Pass holders will get to play the new maps, which are available in the game's Developer Playlist. But for those who didn't pay extra, they will get to try out the maps beginning Feb. 10. Stay tuned for more updates for the Valentine's Day event of "Gears of War 4."
