The first Pokemon Sun and Moon Global Event has not reached its goal tof being a success. This next one will try to redeem the games' promotional steps by offering bigger rewards for the simplest goals. The first event was just too much to handle for Pokemon Sun and Moon trainers worldwide.

The said first Pokemon Sun and Moon Global Event happened early December asking too much from players by giving them the task of collecting 100 million Pokemon. What will the second Pokemon Sun and Moon event be like?

To be able to make up for the players, the second event has significantly lowered its quota, per se. This time, players from all around the world will only need up to a million Pokemon, but there is one tiny detail needed to be considered before a catch is recorded. Island Scan is a feature in Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon that has just been rolled out. This can be acquired once the player has earned 100 points by scanning QR codes while playing the game(s). When using the Island Scan feature, Pokemon Sun and Moon trainers can locate Pokemon that doesn't exist in the Alola region Pokedex.
