Looks like fans of Capcom's hit fighting video game "Street Fighter V" will soon have something to cheer about in the form of Akuma.

Multiple reports doing rounds online claim that Akuma is coming to Street Fighter V --- all guns blazing later this month, Dec. 20, to be precise. For those unaware, Akuma, the classic "Street Fighter" heel, is actually Ryu: re-imagined as a hefty enraged lion man. After being teased for quite some time now, avid gamers were treated to a Street Fighter V trailer, giving them their first sneak peek at the iconic fighter in action; despite being overshadowed by the "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" announcement, Capcom still rolled out a brand-new trailer (shown below) that showcases Akuma's new haircut and his new fighting style in Street Fighter V, Den Of Geek reported.

It's also worth noting that Akuma is the first in Street Fighter V's second season of DLC characters. The other five will be never-before-seen characters in the series. The Street Fighter V trailer gives fans a glimpse on character outlines towards the end. Zealous gamers who can't wait to get their hands on all six characters before even figuring out if they are actually any good or not will be able to get the 2017 Character Pass on Dec. 20 for $29.99, according to a report from PC Gamer.

Akuma seems quite promising, nonetheless. He has a few aces up its sleeves including a slew of minor attacks and rolling attack. In addition, he has special abilities that emanate from his V-meter --- just like the rest of "Street Fighter V" characters. His V-Skill, dubbed as Rakan, also enables him to ward off onslaughts. But that's not all! The V-Trigger called Dohatsu Shoten boosts his fireballs, allowing it to not only get a better range, but also fire two in the air.

Aside from having a Critical Art with the Sekie Koretsuha, where he shatters the ground and engulfs the enemy with the blast, Akuma has his trademark Shun Goku Satsu in his arsenal. However, it can only be done when in the V-Trigger mode.
