Terrorism Threat Grounds NYC-Paris Flight

Few things are more irksome to business travelers than the occasional hours-long flight delay-especially when that delay involves a grounded plane due to the threat of terrorism.

According to the New York Daily News, that's what happened last night to Air France flight 11 at John F. Kennedy International Airport. The flight was evacuated after a "hijack threat" was received. It was later determined to be a false alarm.

Passenger Matthew Rosenstein described the boarding process as ordinary and on time. Once an announcement was made on the plane, he noted, passengers were asked to deplane with only their boarding passes and passports while the plane was officially inspected. After several hours, the flight was canceled and passengers were allowed to return to collect their belongings.

Overall, Rosenstein said, the incident was "a little annoying."
