It's been a bizarre month for Boston police.
A Connecticut man out on bail after being charged with stealing a taxi cab stepped out of a Boston Police Department station on August 11 and decided it would be wise to take a nap in an empty patrol car early on August 11, according to Reuters.
Soon after being arrested on charges of stealing a car and being released on bail, Nicholas Cunliffe of Stratford, C.N., was found asleep in the front seat of a police car outside the same station he had been booked.
"After officers were able to rouse Cunliffe from his nap, he told officers he was just looking for a place to rest," police said in a statement, according to Reuters.
They added that they aren't sure how Cunliffe, 33, was able to get into the cruiser.
The 33-year-old was then charged again, this time for breaking and entering.
However, the sleepy criminal isn't the first local to get in trouble with police this month for breaking into another person's car to take a snooze.
A woman found two people asleep in her parked car near a local hospital earlier this month after getting off work on a night shift.
Police arrested Jean Marcellus, 30, of Boston, and Nicole Makseyn, 38, of Lexington and charged them with breaking and entering a motor vehicle on Aug. 5, according to Reuters.
Breaking the law must get pretty exhausting.
