Mini Cooper has priced the 2015 Hardtop 4 Door at $22,300, reflecting a $1,000 increase over the Hardtop 2 Door.

The new Mini Cooper Hardtop 4 Door is a five-passenger hatchback and should be available at dealerships at the end of the year, Edmunds.com reported. The listing price includes an $850 destination fee.

The vehicle competes in its segment with the Honda Fit, Kia Rio Five-Door and Volkswagen GTI, according to Edmunds.

The five-door car has a wheelbase that has been extended by 2.9 inches and a body lengthened by 6.3 inches from the 2014 version. In standard trim, some of its features include power exterior mirrors, dual-zone climate control and door sill cover strips, Edmunds reported.

The Hardtop 4 Door comes with two engine options: a 134-horsepower, 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine or a 189-horsepower, 2-liter four-cylinder engine in the Mini Cooper S Hardtop 4 Door, according to Edmunds.

The Mini comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, while a six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission is an option for all versions.

A third-generation vehicle, the Hardtop 4 Door has more head and elbow room in the back as well as a bigger luggage compartment, Autoblog.com reported.
