Scion FR-S Is KBB's 'Coolest' Car for $25,000 or Less

For the second consecutive year, the Scion FR-S has topped the 2014 Kelley Blue Book list featuring the 10 "coolest" cars for $25,000 or less.

"Rear drive, lightweight and in tune with its operator, the FR-S is a perfect example of how finesse can be more fun than brute force," KBB.com described.

With the aim of helping consumers snag a "fun-to-drive" vehicle that doesn't break the bank, KBB experts put together the list while keeping the elusive "cool factor" in mind, said a KBB press release.

"The vehicles featured on the 10 Coolest New Cars Under $25,000 of 2014 list were hand-selected for shoppers who are looking for their dream car, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it," Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book's KBB.com, said in the press release.

The Ford Fiesta ST and the Jeep Wrangler came in second and third on the list, respectively. Rounding out KBB's selections were the Volkswagen GTI, Chevrolet Camaro, Mini Cooper S, Ford Mustang, Honda Civic Si, Fiat 500 Abarth and Mazda MX-5 Miata.

The Fiesta was named the most fun car to drive in the subcompact category, while the Jeep Wrangler is described as the vehicle that can drive anywhere.

"Many of us aren't in the position to run out and purchase a Porsche or Lamborghini, which is why we've crafted a list of affordable but fun cars, like two-time winner Scion FR-S," Nerad said in the press release. "Truly a driver's car, the FR-S features a stylish looking exterior and modern updates on the interior."
