Mazda teased its new Hazumi concept this week ahead of its official debut at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show.

The single image released by the automaker shows what the vehicle's headlights will look like and little else.

"The Hazumi expresses the ideal form for the company's next-generation subcompact," said Mazda in a statement this week.

Mazda said that the vehicle's name means "bound" or "spring up" in Japanese, and the automaker hopes the vehicle will appear "to be bursting with energy."

The vehicle has yet to be priced and specs have yet to be confirmed by the automaker.

Toyota signed a deal with Mazda last year to get 50,000 annual units of the vehicle, which is set to replace the Yaris in Toyota's North American lineup.

The vehicle is expected to compete in the same segment as similar vehicles like the Chevrolet Sonic, Ford Fiesta and Fiat 500.

A launch date has yet to be announced by Mazda as well.

The vehicle will be produced in Salamanca, Mexico, according to the automaker.

Mazda will also debut a new 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine at the Geneva Auto Show.

Make sure to check back once more information is revealed about the Hazumi once the vehicle debuts at Geneva.
