Actress Ashley Judd has accused her sister, Wynonna Judd, of putting a tracking device on her car to follow her every move, TMZ reported.

Wynonna Judd's daughter drove the vehicle in question to a mechanic in Franklin, Tenn., and asked to have the car checked for a tracking device last month, according to police reports.

A large plastic box was found in the car's rear passenger side, according to a police statement from mechanic Tim Goodson.

After the tracking device was located on the car, authorities started an investigation to find who placed it there.

When police officers talked to Ashley Judd, 45, she pointed to her sister as the culprit. Detectives tried to reach Wynonna Judd, 49, who declined to give any information.

"It is believed that the device was placed there in order to track their movement," said the report.

The tracking device placed on the silver Mini Cooper was part of the ongoing dispute between the two sisters regarding custody of the car's driver, The Tennessean reported.

The cellular GPS tracking device was registered to Janice Diane Swafford-Holt, a Nashville private investigator, the outlet said.

After a detective called Swafford-Holt, Wynonna Judd's lawyer eventually contacted police to say that she was actually attempting to track her daughter, who sometimes drove the vehicle. The daughter's name was withheld by police.

The country music star's ex-husband Arch Kelley allegedly placed the device on the vehicle but has denied any involvement to authorities.

Soon after the report went public, Wynonna Judd tweeted that she was homesick and added: "Be thankful for all you have, because you never know what will happen next."

In another fallout from the strange incident, Deputy Chief Mike Jordan was placed on suspension by police after reportedly disclosing confidential information about the case, which leaked to the media last month.
