Kia is recalling over 96,000 minivans in cold weather locations across North America, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The recall affects Sedona minivans manufactured from 2006 through 2012 and sold or registered in Canada and in 20 U.S. states where salt is on the roads during the winter.
The NHTSA said the lower control arms near the wheels can rust and break due to salt, causing drivers to lose control.
Kia dealers are being instructed to inspect the parts and replace or rustproof them starting in December.
In the U.S., the recall covers over 80,000 vans sold in: Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, West Virginia or the District of Columbia.
The remaining 16,000 Sedonas were sold in Canada, according to the NHTSA.
Kia is unaware of any injuries or crashes caused by the issue.
