Mark Wahlberg and his family may be headlining their own reality show, but they won't be the next Kardashians, The Associated Press reported.
The "Shooter" actor will be part of an unscripted A&E television series along with his mother, Alma Wahlberg, and brothers Donnie and Paul. The show will center on the family-owned restaurant Wahlburgers, which the three brothers co-founded in 2011.
When asked if the show would be similar to "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," Wahlberg shot down the suggestion.
"No, no. It's very different. It's very different. Nothing against them. They've been hugely successful," he told the AP in an interview Tuesday. ''It's just about building a family business. Uh, it's just very different, very different."
The new "Wahlburgers" series will begin airing on A&E in January. The show will focus on the family as much as the restaurant, according to Rolling Stone.
The Boston-area burger joint will serve as a hangout for the brothers to interact with each other and people close to them, the outlet reported.
Wahlberg spoke to the AP before the premiere of his new war film, "Lone Survivor," in which he plays Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, who was part of a failed Afghanistan mission in 2005.
"Lone Survivor" is based on Luttrell's bestselling book about the mission, which saw 19 Americans killed. Directed by Peter Berg, the film is slated for a Jan. 10 release.
"I thought there was pressure playing Micky Ward [in 'The Fighter'] until I signed on to play Marcus," Wahlberg said. "Considering what he and his team members went through and what they sacrificed and the amount of loss that was suffered by their families, there was a lot of pressure to get it right and make them proud."
