Samsung has announced the price of its Galaxy Gear this week, pricing its smartwatch device at $299.

The Galaxy Gear was showcased at the IFA consumer conference, Europe's largest consumer-electronics show.

The device features a 1.63-inch screen and a 1.9-megapixel camera according to Shin Jong Kyun, head of Samsung's mobile business.

Six color options, including lime green, gold, and orange, will be made available, and the device will weight 74 grams.

The Galaxy Gear has a thin screen, a fitness tracker, and works with 70 different apps like Evernote, and eBay, according to Samsung. It has a 4-gig internal memory and 512 megabytes of RAM.

Users will get to make hands-free calls directly from the Gear, set alarms, check the weather and send emails just by using their voice.

Samsung predicts it will sell 500,000 Galaxy Gears this year alone.

Expect the device to be released on Sept. 25 in 140 countries, but the U.S. and Japan won't get it until October.

Make sure to check back for more details on the new device once it's been released.
