Jaguar has revealed that it will be recalling 2,929 XK Convertibles and XF 2.0 sedans over two separate issues.
The 2011-2014 XK convertibles were manufactured from Oct. 1, 2010 through Aug. 1, 2013 according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
A switch in the overhead roof console isn't working correctly according to the NHTSA. The switch also activates the power operated windows when the roof is opening or closing.
The NHTSA reported that the switch doesn't move downward to close the windows.
If the switch isn't working correctly, the power windows could pinch or injure an arm or finger according to the NHTSA. No injuries have been reported as of press time.
Expect this recall to begin officially Sept. 27.
The 2013 XR 2.0L GTDi vehicles were manufactured from July 2012 through May 2013.
The hose clamp for the Charge Air Cooler hose could be out of position and loose, which could cause the hose to detach according to the NHTSA.
If the hose detaches, the engine could stall. This issue increases the chance of a crash greatly, and could cause steering and brake assistance could go as well.
Expect this recall to begin by Sept. 27 as well.
Jaguar will begin notifying owners of both vehicles soon according to the NHTSA. The automaker will fix both models, free of charge.
