New Ram Pickup Concept to Debut at 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise

Aug 14, 2013 11:30 AM EDT | Matt Mercuro

Chrysler said this week it will unveil a high-performance RAM concept pickup truck this weekend at the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise.

The automaker hasn't released any information about the vehicle yet, but the truck could be a newer option of the Ram SRT or the Power Wagon according to Edmunds.

The new model will compete against the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor, which will also be appearing at the Woodward Dream Cruise.

The Tremor will pace the field at the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Michigan National Guard 200 this weekend.

"Michigan International Speedway is one of the fastest tracks on the NASCAR circuit, so the vehicle pacing the field also needs to be fast," said Jamie Allison, director, Ford Racing in a press statement. "The 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor, with its light-weight configuration, EcoBoost engine and launch-optimized performance, is well-suited for this job."

The non-pace Tremor will go on sale this fall according to Ford.

The concept truck will debut at the auto show at 10:00 a.m. Make sure to check back here for more details once the truck is revealed.

The Dream Cruise is the largest one-day auto show in the world according to its website. The event draws 1.5 million people each year.
