Transformers 4 Rumors: Bumblebee Becomes a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Concept in New Film (VIDEO)

Director Michael Bay has confirmed that the autobot known as Bumblebee will be changed to a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro concept in "Transformers 4."

Bay called the new Camaro "the final jewel in the "Transformers 4 crown" on his website MichaelBay.com.

The news puts an end to rumors that Bumblebee would be changed to a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS, as Bay decided to help introduce a new Chevy for the next Transformers film instead.

The fifth-generation Camaro played Bumblebee in the 2007 "Transformers" film and in the 2009 "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

Michael Bay's website has been a popular site to visit the last couple of months as the director has revealed a number of new vehicles fans can expect to see in his next Transformers film.

"Obviously, Camaro has played a role in the three previous movies, and we're excited to hear that it will play a part in the fourth," said Chevy spokesman Monte Doran according to The Detroit News.

Models already confirmed for the new movie include a 2014 Freightliner Argosy heavy-duty truck, and new a Daimler over-the-road tractor that will be used as a revamped Optimus Prime according to Bay.

-2013 Pagani Huayra

-2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

-2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

-Oshkosh Defense military truck

The new Oshkosk

"Transformers 4" is set to be released on June 27, 2014, according to Paramount. The new film will star Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Nicola Peltz, and Kelsey Grammer.
