A Florida mall was partially shut down after a parking lot brawl of close to 200 teens broke out on June 25.

The trouble began across the street from the Lauderhill Mall, and grew as word spread through social media devices like Twitter and Facebook.

"I just heard that anybody that had beef with each other is supposed to come over here and fight," said Frank Francis, a witness to the fight, according to UPI.com.

The fight began at a parking lot across from the mall, but when police showed up some of those involved ran into the shopping center. Authorities then decided to institute a lockdown.

Police have already opened up an investigation into the brawl, and speculate the fight had something to do with "a previous disagreement" between two girls and the Trayvon Martin murder case.

No weapons appeared to have been used during the fight, but people were seen getting hit by traffic cones according to Francis.

"I don't know what the motive was for using the mall or why they would want to fight," Lauderhill Lt. Michael Butkus said according to Yahoo.

Investigators have said they don't plan on filing criminal charges as of press time according to UPI.

One 16-year-old boy suffered a "minor injury" but police said it was not life-threatening.

The incident is reminiscent of one that took place last summer when 300 teenagers "terrorized employees and shoppers at a Wal-Mart in Florida according to the Inquisitr. The teens destroyed merchandise and stole a security scanner worth approximately $1,500.
