Despite the fact that "Fast & Furious 6" just came out a few weeks ago, Universal has already confirmed the seventh installment of the blockbuster franchise will receive its latest release date ever.

"Fast & Furious 7" will hit theatres on July 11, 2014 according to IMDB.com, and filming is set to begin in September.

"They just announced that 'Fast & Furious 7' shoots in September and will release in 2014 next year in July," said actress Michelle Rodriguez while on the show "Cafecito."

The July 11 release date had been rumored since Memorial Day weekend when "Fast & Furious 6" made over $171 million at the box office. The film has gone on to make $639.2 million worldwide.

James Wan has already agreed to direct the next installment taking over for Justin Lin. Wan is known for his work with the "Saw" franchise as well as the movie "Insidious" according to IMDB.

Filming is scheduled to take place in Tokyo and select locations in the Middle East according to the film's star Vin Diesel.

"We're definitely going back home, as you know from seeing Fast and Furious 6" said Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto, according to Digital Spy. "We will have a stint in Tokyo and there is the Middle East next, that could be very interesting."

Only one new actor has been confirmed for the next movie, action movie veteran Jason Statham. "The Transporter" star was revealed at the end of the "Fast & Furious 6" as villain Owen Shaw's brother.

Most of the cast feels Statham will fit in just fine with the likes of Diesel, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Paul Walker.

"There's something that ties these types of fellas together, a Jason Statham, a Dwayne Johnson, and a Vin Diesel, they've got this macho masculine thing going but on top of that they carry an integrity that you can relate to," Rodriguez said according to DesdeHollywood.

"If you saw these guys in a room together you would say they'd get along," Rodriguez added.
