Next-gen Porsche 911 GT2 made a surprising introduction when the automaker recently confirmed the return of the model. Porsche CEO Oliver Blume released statements regarding the new model which is being teased to a powerful beast of its kind.
The last Porsche 911 GT2 was launched six years ago as the RS model. No talks about the next-generation of the model have surfaced until Oliver Blume recently told CarAdvice that the automaker is prepping up to launch a new model of the GT2.

Despite the exciting revelation, Oliver Blume managed to conceal details about the next-generation GT2. The CEO only revealed that the new model will be turbocharged and rear-wheel drive.
Furthermore, the Porsche CEO teased an exclusive component that will set the new model to a higher standard. Oliver Blume added that the new 911 GT2 will sport the brand's PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission that is exclusive to the new model.
With regard to the engine, the CEO did not reveal the details yet. However, he just teased that the new 911 GT2 is equipped to reach new levels of performance. Considering the current GT2 model which can deliver 456kW of power and 700Nm of torque, it is exciting to note that the new model will come out equipped with unbelievable power. Speculations point to a potential 485kW and more than 750Nm of torque from the new model.
According to the publication, the new beast will probably be launched in the upcoming 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show that is slated to start in September. If such pushes through, the new Porsche 911 GT2 will most likely be released in Australia next year.
Meanwhile, Digital Trends predicts that the new GT2 might carry a $300,000 price tag. The publication explains that the current GT2 RS was sold for $245,000 in 2010, so it is expected that the upcoming Porsche 911 GT2 will come out with a more expensive tag.
