A respected female judge has been accused of having sex with a prison inmate half her age in an interview room according to Indiana authorities.
Lisa Traylor-Wolff, 52, has been accused of a "physically intimate relationship" with a 26-year-old client at the Miami Correctional Facility in Peru, Indiana according to The New York Daily News.
The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualifications stated this week that the judge, who is also a defense lawyer, began the relationship before the man was arrested.
The relationship then continued and as she represented him while he appealed his conviction according to The Indianapolis Star.
"The commission alleges she began a romantic relationship with the client while representing him," the court statement said. "The commission also alleges inappropriate conduct occurred when Traylor-Wolff and the client were in an attorney-client visitation room at the Miami Correctional Facility."
Traylor-Wolff has yet to comment on the accusations.
Traylor-Wolff, a graduate of Valparaiso University law school, is facing three charges of violating the Code of Judicial Conduct according local officials.
She has 20 days to respond to the accusations before the case goes before the Supreme Court.
If convicted, Traylor-Wolff could face a lifetime ban from holding judicial office in the state for having sexual relations with a client and undermining the integrity of the position of judge according to The New York Daily News.
She had served as a Superior Court judge in Pulaski County and was the head of her county's Bar Association according to Gant Daily.
