Xbox Scorpio just received another blockbuster, as Middle-earth Shadow of War is finally confirmed for the console. The Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor sequel has been provided an August 22 launch date for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

What's interesting is the game has also been listed for PS4 Pro and Xbox One Scorpio, which tells that it will be optimized for both consoles. While it hasn't been confirmed yet, the original Shadow of Mordor had a PS4 Pro patch, so it stands to reason that the sequel will follow.

Microsoft said in a press release, "As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, if you purchase a digital version of Middle-earth: Shadow of War from either the Xbox Store or Windows Store, you will automatically have access to the game on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC at launch - and for Project Scorpio at its launch this holiday season - at no additional cost." Express Online has reached out to know if the Shadow of War will have a Scorpio upgrade.

In Shadow of War, players hold a new Ring of Power and will face the deadliest of the enemies, including Sauron and his Nazgul, in a huge battle for Middle-earth. The open-world-action-adventure game is revived through the expansion of the award-winning Nemesis System. The great personalization from the first game is now applied to the whole world where the environments and characters are all formed by player actions and decisions, thus, creating a direct world unique to every gameplay experience.

Created by Monolith, Shadow of War will feature an original story, and both Celebrimbor and Talion will make their return. The game's sequel sold over 1.9 million copies on PC alone and performed very well on consoles.

The Xbox One Scorpio is also considered the most powerful console ever made. It comes with an impressive six teraflops of GPU, which can provide 4K gaming and support virtual reality as well.
