The popular BBC show "Top Gear" posted an intense video this week on their YouTube channel which shows a helicopter crash that took place while filming the South Korean version of the show in 2012 according to Yahoo.

In the video, the ex-military AH-1 Cobra helicopter is seen racing around an Arizona airfield against a Corvette ZR1. The show is notorious for matching fast, sport cars against other unique opponents ranging from downhill skiers to planes.

The race is designed according to the show to test the limits of reality, but just like in life, occasionally things go a little too far.

As you can see, the Corvette does in fact win the race proving to the audience just how fast the sports car really is. As the helicopter is heading back to the staging location however, it is shown losing altitude and slams hard into the ground.

The camera then shows the copter's rotors coming apart and shooting out debris all over the place causing the camera crew to flee their production vehicle.

The cause of the crash has yet to be released.

TV crew members and the driver of the Corvette can be seen running to the aid of the pilot who only suffered minor injuries during the accident.

"Top Gear" on average is watched by 350 million people per week and in over 170 different countries according to The New York Post. The show is currently in its 19th season and was recently profiled on "60 Minutes."

The show is aired on The History Channel in the U.S., and can be seen on BBC America on Sundays at 9:00 p.m.
