Mods for Star Wars: Battlefront II, are more united than ever. The latest mod pushes the game to the new level. By using the assets from Battlefront III, they have created a mod for Battlefront II.

Game Rant reported that although Battlefront series operate under Electronic Arts, the fans have not forgotten the franchises’ roots - LucasArts. The die-hard fans are trying to preserve the spirit of the original Star Wars Battlefront by creating their sequels using unofficial assets. Star Wars: Battlefront III mod is made to preserve the legacy of the canceled successor by using as many of the assets as possible. At one point LucasArts worked on Star Wars Battlefront III, but the project was scrapped.

Disney bought both LucasArts and LucasFilm, and the rights for the video game development moved to Electronic Arts. Electronic Arts decided to reboot the Battlefront project, but many fans argued that the game missed a lot of the important features, like a single player campaign. Electronic Arts responded to their concerns and released the Battlefront II. Back then, when LucasArts still worked on the Battlefront franchise, the fans didn’t know that there was Star Wars Battlefront III in the works, but eventually the word of the sequel surfaced. Footage and art were circulating the internet. The same art is now used for the mod.

According to Kotaku, the Star Wars: Battlefront III mod is still a work in progress. Not every aspect of the game works 100%. Players can choose to play as every class from Clone Wars, and there are a number of heroes to choose from like Obi-Wan, Anakin, and General Grievous. Two maps allowed travel between ground battle and space. The fans have done everything they can to preserve the spirit of Star Wars: Battlefront III. The beta is open and can be played if the players already have Battlefront II.
