An unprecedented accident transpired during this year's famous Race of Champions which led to the unfortunate withdrawal from the next race. However, doctors advised him to skip the following Nations Cup race.

Last Saturday, the fans have witnessed a tight match between F1 drivers Pascal Wehrlein and Felipe Massa at the Race of Champions. The two drivers were attempting for the top spot when the former lost control when his Polaris Slingshot crashed into a barrier. The crash brought Pascal Wehrlein's car into Massa's and made the former's car into a tragic flip which ended atop the solid barrier.

Fortunately, both F1 drivers survived the smash without serious injuries. However, the young German was still advised by his doctors to skip the upcoming Nations Cup race. The F1 driver released a statement expressing his deep apologies for withdrawing from the next ROC Nations Cup. He also mentioned that as much as he wanted to join in the race as he is physically fine, but he needed to follow his doctor's advice to take the necessary rest, Motortrend reported.

Apparently, the testing block for next month's F1 is set to begin on Feb. 27 in Barcelona.
