Tesla Boasts of Additional Driving Range With The Addition of Non-P 100D Models to Its Lineup

Tesla, without much of a signal, added two new options in its product offering. These new options, the Model S 100D and the Model X 100D can help the user to extend the range. While making a vehicle which solely focuses on extending range, the company has compromised the performance aspect of the vehicles.

In the Model S range, the Model S 100D offers the longest range. This is when it is compared with any other battery-electric vehicle. The model has ensured that the speed of 155 mph is untouched. Also, with this model, Tesla claims that it takes just about 4.2 seconds for zero to 60 mph.

Of the two models, Model S 100D, with its 100.0-kWh batter, boasts of an EPA driving range of 335 miles, that too from a single charge. When we compare this with the P100D, it is a definite 20-mile increase. And it is 41 miles better when we compare it with the 90D. On the other hand, the Model X 100D has 295 miles of EPA-rated range on a single charge. When compared, this is 38 miles better than the 90D. Also, when compared to the P100D version of the Model X, it is better by six miles, reported Car and Driver.

Tesla reported that the new Model X 100D shoots up to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. This is exactly the same as the X 90D. However, X P100D overtakes it by 1.9 seconds. When we compare the prices of the cars across models, the starting price of Model S 100D is $93,700. This price is $3000 more than the price of 90D. It is competitive when compared to the P100D which costs $135,700, reported Top Amazing Car.

The Model X 100D is priced at $99,700 and it is expensive by a tad more than the 90D version. At the same time, the vehicle costs lesser than Model X P100D. Having very less difference in the prices of various models makes them compete against each other. It is also quite possible that Tesla might remove older vehicles from its portfolio.
