What To Expect From The 2018 BMW 4 Series

The BMW 4 Series gets a mid-life update, keeping it looking fresh. The update covers all BMW 4 Series trims from 4 Series down to the high-performance M4 Convertible.

The 2018 BMW 4 Series. The updates made in BMW's new 4 Series are mostly aesthetic although there are also a handful of updated tech and other features.

Externally, the 2018 4 Series sports new LED headlights, foglights, and a new bumper across all trims The M4, however, gets standard adaptive LED headlights and LED taillights. It now comes in two additional colors namely Snapper Rocks Blue and Sunset Orange. Wheels for the new 4 Series differ on each trim.

The suspension for new 4 Series is now stiffer. The suspension's setup is designed to deliver sportier handling without compromising comfort.

One can find new double-stitching on the instrument panel, a new steering wheel, and a center console in glossy black on the inside. The interior can come in three different upholstery colors.

Tech-wise, the 4 Series gets updated control knobs and buttons for its infotainment system which is the latest version of iDrive. An advanced version of the iDrive is available on the M4 trim. The infotainment system has an optional instrument display screen that provides different types of gauge appearances depending on the vehicle's current mode.

Non-US versions of the BMW 4 Series will come in three gas engine variations and another three diesel engine variations. For the US 4 Series, BMW is most likely to retain the base model 430i engine and the more powerful 440i engine. All trims come on the standard rear-wheel drive. However, one can always opt for an all-wheel drive which has always been the case.

BMW has yet to reveal the 2018 4 Series' release date or price range. Analysts speculate that the base model's price could be close to the 2017 model's which is at US$43,145.
