The recently concluded testing of the facelifted 2017 Porsche 991.2 Turbo S by Motor Trend proved its worth to be called as the quickest and the hardest-launching car ever tested in history.
Motor Trend's test shows the car's capacity to set speed records at 0-30 mph, 0-40 mph, and 0-50 mph stints; although, it was not able to win the record over Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari in the 0-60 mph sprint.
The acceleration tests for the given distances set a new record on Motor Trend's account, as 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo S showcased its speed-ability at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California last November 2 of this year, according to Motor Trend's blog post.
The latest Turbo S holds a record of 0.9 seconds in the 30 mph run, which is 0.2 tenths and 0.3 tenths faster from LaFerrari and 918 Spyder. On the 40 mph sprint, it hits the line at 0.4 seconds after leaving the previous lap; it brilliantly brushed all crossbreed hyper cars and Bugatti Veyron behind the Auto Club Speedway.
As the hype continues, 2017 Porsche Turbo S accelerates to 50 mph with an additional time of 1.8 seconds prior to the 60 mph distance --- ending the acceleration test at 2.5 seconds. On the 60 mph sprint though, Turbo S is a bit behind from LaFerrari and 918 Spyder, which the latter set a record of 2.4 seconds, according to a blog post on Carscoops.
Turbo S's characteristics and features such as speeding at a maximum 580 hp or 6,750 rpm and 553 lb-ft of torque or 2,250 rpm in overboost give it competitiveness and efficiency over other supercars. Adding its slender 3,557-pound curb mass, back-engine location, and all-wheel drive, 2017 Porsche Turbo S gets to gain authority on the roads more swiftly than others.
