A U.S. businessman has reportedly been involved in the world's most expensive car crashes.
Multi-millionaire Christopher Cox was driving his Ferrari 250 GTO, worth more than $30 million, with his wife Ann when he collided with another vehicle, the Daily Mail reports. His wife is reported to have suffered a broken leg in the accident, which occurred outside Saint-Etienne-des Guirets, near Blois where the multi-millionaire enthusiasts drove their iconic Gueux racing circuit in Reims before visiting the Abbey of Hautvillers as part of the five-day tour.
Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and JCB boss Sir Anthony Bamford were two of 21 groups taking part in the 50th anniversary jaunt, reported the Daily Mail.
The Italian sports car Ferrari 250 GTO is called the "Picasso of the motoring world." According to the Daily Mail, that Ferrari 250GT is one of only 39 ever built and that value makes Monday's crash one of the most expensive in history.
In the last four decades, the price of Ferrari models has skyrocketed with one green model built for Stirling Moss sold in the previous month for the world record whopping price of over $33 million. The model involved in the car crash was built in 1962 in the month of April and its chassis number was 3445GT.
