It had been difficult for wireless carriers in United States to keep up with the demand of the ever popular Samsung Galaxy S3. Three of the five major U.S. carriers somehow managed to finally launch the device, but Verzion pushed back their release date to July 12.

The highly anticipated smartphone is available on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint, although they had to delay the launch of release only the 16GB models. Verizon, who recently announced the release date to be July 10 on a statement, also had trouble in shipping. The change was noted on its website.

Various reports suggested, however, the July 12 date will only affect the in store availability and not the people who preordered. Many people, who preordered earlier, have claimed that they have received Galaxy S3 device in the mail.

Samsung Galaxy S3 has 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, which is one of the biggest smartphone available in the market. The U.S. version sports dual-coreQualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, and 4G LTE connectivity. It comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but rumors have it that the upgrade to 4.1 Jelly Bean is expected later this year. There are two cameras – 8-megapixle rear and 1.9-megapixle front. The device will be available in 16GB and 32GB versions.

When the phone was first unveiled in Europe in May, it was received with rave reviews, breaking sales records set by Apple. When it was announced to be launched in United States, Android fans were excited, hoping it could be the next “iPhone killer”.

However, some people had expressed their frustration and disappointment due to the delays in the release date. Sprint, who were planning to launch on June 21, but they were only able to make the 16GB version available. T-Mobile was also planning for June 21 release, but they opened on only 29 markets and delayed the launch to June 29 on rest of the market. AT&T was planning for a June 28 release, but had to push back until recently.

U.S. Cellular is on its way to launch in the coming weeks, according to cnet.

And we thought Verizon, having announced pretty late in the game, did not have to delay their deadline, learning from the previous carriers.

Could the delay hurt the image of Samsung Galaxy S3 in its upcoming battle against iPhone 5? Apple is rumored to have its next generation of iPhone this fall that will put Galaxy S3 in “shame” according to Foxconn CEO Terry Guo.
