World class Italian automaker Ferraris is looking to add its name in the annuls of Guinness World Records with the largest parade of Ferrari cars.
Ferrari's worldwide regional chapters have been competing against one other to see which chapter will set the record for the world's largest parade of Maranello's super cars. The current world record stands at 490 cars but Ferrari North Europe is taking it a step further by displaying 1,000 cars in the parade. According to reports, to date, more than 600 registrations have been recorded with 400 still awaiting registration, which should take place in another two weeks.
The official date for displaying 1,000 Ferrari cars has been set on September 15, 2012 during Ferrari Racing Days to be held at Silverstone Circuit in Northhamptonshire, UK. The world record attempt has been supported from the Ferrari Owners Club and other Ferrari enthusiasts across the U.K. and abroad.
Ferrari will also be donating five pounds ($7.85) per car who is entering into this record breaking feat as part of a charity.
"Ferrari North Europe's ambition has set a Guinness World Record with 1000 cars, therefore, registrations remain open for the final 400 spaces," reads the statement from Ferrari.
