Focussing on a more green environment, world class automaker Chrysler Jeep is turning towards using used glass.
Chrysler of South African division has partnered with the Glass Recycling company in the latest program to save the environment. The program, which will start at the end of July, will be a glass bank at every Jeep dealerships across South Africa. And the collected used glass will go into production of existing glass making which will lighten substantiality in terms of impact on our fragile planet Earth.
"Currently about 40 percent of glass in South Africa is recycled. Starting from just 18 percent when the company was formed in 2008," Shabeer Jhetam, CEO of Glass Recycling company, told reporters. "But that's still less than half, so there's a long way to go yet. So, put those empty dumpies and peanut butter jars one side; take them down to your nearest glass bank when next you go shopping and help Jeep (and everybody else) to tread a little more lightly."
Jeep, Chrysler's off-road vehicle, comes up with a planet saving strategy which costs nothing out of the car owner's pockets.
